São Januário becomes the first stadium in RJ to operate 100% of access by facial recognition
Vasco is proud of the history of the construction of São Januário Stadium, for the brave struggle of the fans to conquer their space. Inaugurated in April 1927, the stadium is heading towards its centenary, constantly renewing and updating itself. In total, there are 54 turnstiles with the Imply®️ Facial Recognition system, modernizing the experience of the Vasco fans and stadium visitors. The facial recognition technology was inaugurated on September 21 for fans with free access, and the club gradually migrated the access from various gates to the new system. On Saturday, June 29, the match against Botafogo marked the access by Facial Recognition in 100% of the stadium, accounting for more than 16 thousand fans entering São Januário just with their faces – without needing to carry tickets or documents.
