Autopass and Imply deploy QR Code service in individual travel tickets

Autopass, company dedicated to electronic ticketing services for urban mobility, this week began an unprecedented service in public transport in Brazil in partnership with Imply.

The companies created QR Code tickets for transport. The pilot premiered on Monday, July 11, at St. Andre station – Sao Paulo for passengers who use Metra buses.

“We are the first company in Latin America to launch this technology. Our goal is that soon the QR Code ticket go to the mobile version, where the passenger can use his/her phone to validate the code at the turnstile reader,” says Rubens Gil Filho, president of Autopass.

At first, a booth at St. Andre Terminal will be directed to issue the new type of ticket. It is expected that in the coming weeks ATMs also will issue the QR Code and further streamline customer routine.

The solutions are constantly evolving in order to innovate and optimize the services provided. “Imply comes day after day researching and developing new tools to help the user experience” says the president of Imply, Tironi Paz Ortiz.
